Unboxing The New iPad White

This New iPad unit was bought by my friend from Switch Kuching on 20th April morning. The first thing we check out was the “resolutionary” screen.

Reading on a New iPad is like looking at a print. The display is so sharp, you can imagine flipping through a collection of photos on a magazine that’s how I feel about the display. Almost as real as reading from a print.

New iPad Quad Core Graphics

The New iPad magical quad-core graphics (3.1 million pixel) coming from A5X is truly the first in the market. If you heard of 4K display — New iPad Quad Core is “half” the taste of what’s to come in 4K display. The only concern however was the price of these 4K display monitors. Right now, the world is not ready for 4K yet but few company have started pushing for 4K TV.

Other than the awesome screen there’s no noticeable changes shape and sizes — still feels good to hold and caress.

New iPad 64GB Wi-Fi White Issues

My friend whom a big Apple supporter during the time when Apple on the verge of bankruptcy has this to share after using the New iPad for a few weeks.

  • Photos cannot properly sync with Windows 7 (Prone to data data corruption)
  • Bluetooth — no backward compatibility
  • Heat problem — Not really an issue
  • Wi-Fi receptions seem weak.

He is very happy with the color display — tested reaching 94% sRGB gamut almost as good as Apple 27″ LED Monitors he said.

New iPad Camera Sample Shot (unedited)

I tested a few shots from a high rise building during a sunset. I am not pleased with the result, you can see the flare on the side of the photo.

The noise level control is manageable but in comparison to shots taken with iPhone 4 the result from of the latter was better. I am disappointed that HDR feature was missing from iOS for the New iPad.

Will New iPad 4G LTE works in Malaysia?

LTE support is the number one question in Malaysia right now. Even though there are few telco/celco selling their products under the terms “4G” you need to understand the technology uses is a different one.

iPad 4G LTE is not compatible in Malaysia for now.

New iPad vs. iPad 2

Like the iPhone 4/4S the internal beast powering the device is an upgrade. In iPad New the biggest upgrade would be the 1GB RAM and A5X CPU.

You Will Love The New iPad

I love the New iPad, I just do not know how to explain how good is this device. I highly recommend you to get the New iPad if you haven’t yet owned any iPad.
