You can now own an iPod touch for RM799. Anyone who is looking for a budget but a “powerful” music player will be very happy with this one. My thoughts, this is definitely an affordable iPod touch.

You still get everything you love about the 5th generation iPod, powerful iOS and beautiful and stunning Retina Display.
Here’s a surprise which you will love was the new silver and black color design. The silver and black color makes this entry level iPod touch look stunningly gorgeous and it separates the design from the rest of higher end iPod touch. This design change also affects the volume rocker and on/off/sleep/wake buttons. A plastic button were used instead.
The rear iSight camera however, was removed. The unique iPod touch loop has also been removed. The good news is you still can take self photos with the 720p FaceTime camera.
Another thing that separates the 16GB to the rest of the 5th generation iPod is the black color logo branding.

by 1 and 2 they position gadget for teenagers, for most people – rear cam is more useful ) comparison with older generation can be nice for those who plan to change older to newer.
Not for me i think, i can find 800 RM much more useful for something else, i.e. Nokia Lumia 520 with free 1 year internet access (i dont like windows phones, so Lumia is just an example alternative)
I have two theories;
1) iPod touch appeal to school going teen and teen love to take self portrait. Therefore not having rear camera is not really an issue.
2) The rear f/2.4 camera len is expensive, get rip of it, Apple can reduce the price and hopefully the new price would allow parent to cash in.
The previous generation iPod touch which is the 4th generation is not selling any more. I thought it would not be any useful to do the comparison 😀
