Streamyx Quick Setup (Innacomm W3400V6)

This how-to is for the antenna less orange modem (Innacomm W3400V6) that was supplied by TM. This is a Wireless G ADSL 2+ modem. The latest version Wi-Fi is Wireless AC and the becoming affordable good wireless is the Wireless N as of this writing in 2013.

Why TM provides Wireless G to me on my 2Mbps subscription is beyond me. I think TM being stingy and this modem is the worse TM modem ever. That said, this is probably the first ipv6 capable modem TM ever provided.

Step One: Log in to your modem with Mac or Windows

This is not your typical admin/admin login. It is slightly technical and if this is your first time, it may be confusing. The good news is, once you logged in the modem, the quick setup is really straightforward and easy to do.

  1. Open your browser and point to http://192.168.1.1
  2. Username: tmadmin
    Password: Adm@_ _ _ _ (followed by the 4 last digit of the Mac ID found on your orange box or underneath the modem it self)
  3. Select “Quick Setup Mode“

Step Two: Setup Streamyx connection with username & Password

  1. Connection Type: Select “Router mode”
  2. Type in your Streamyx username
  3. Type in your Streamyx password
  4. Select “Enable IPv6“

TM has since activated IPv6 for its customer. By enabling IPv6, it doesn’t make your internet connection superior; if you’re wondering. TM randomly auto assign IPv4 and IPv6 when you connected to the internet.

Step Three: Setup SSID

  1. Wireless ID: Give your wireless network a special name.
  2. Security Type: Select “WPA”
  3. Network Key: Type in a strong 13 characters password (Max 64 characters).
    (Pair with capital & small letter, numbers and special symbols ~!@#$%^&*() password)

Step 4: Verify details, click “Save” and you’re done!

    bro this modem was fucking idiot slow, i really cant handover this fucking low speed it was juz looking good, but actually it was juz a shit, 54mbps ?? wtf my old aztech modem support up to 150 more nice than this tm shit

      LOL sounds like you have your old modem broken and no choice but to use this one for temporary. I feel you. I hated this modem so much that I buy a new one within week of using it. I too can not handle the slow speed and bad connection around my house. The worse modem ever.

    hello friend,, i m using tm device w3400v6 using 1mb internet i want to change my wifi password i tried many of time to log in but it shows authenticantion failed help me please,,

      Hi, very easy; just reset your modem and follow instruction above to reconfigure your modem again. Make sure you remember Streamyx password.

    hi can nak setting bg semua equal speed .. let say ada 10 pc.. nak kasi semua sama rata.. so jika sorg guna pc heavy download.. yg lain x lag main game

      Yang tu technical sikit. Saya rasa modem ni tak dapat buat macam tu. You boleh block tapi tak dapat reduce speed mana-mana ip. You boleh cari software untuk buat sedemikian tapi saya rasa software yang terdapat di internet kebanyakanya ada malware. Malaslah saya nak try. hahaha 😉

      As for your question above, “how can i checked who connect on my wifi?” Normally it is found under “DHCP Server” setting. Just look for “Client List” or something similar.

      Sorry I thought I dah reply your msg. Nampaknya tak lepas.

      Reset modem akan padam segala infomasi yang Missconfused masukan sebelum ini. Jikalau you dah lupa password dan ID streamyx you boleh call TM di talian 100 untuk maklumat yang Missconfused perlukan.

    Hai…i have a problem,,hope you can help me,,i can’t go to 192.168.1.1 page..everytime i tried it shown not avalaible..so how can i change the password??

      Hi, you can try 192.168.0.1

      if it does’t work for you, maybe you are not connected to your wifi network? You can try use cable instead of WiFi just to make sure you are connected to your own network.

      I would also suggest you to check your modem handout to look for the default ip address to log in.

        Hey .. I just got a new wifi modem .. the technician said to follow the instruction in the manual to determine ur id and password .. I use my phone internet first to open the browser .. however, I cant open the web which is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 .. my phone intrnet was fine .. please help me !

          You can not use your mobile to setup your modem without first connected to the modem. Please use a PC and connect your modem with a cable and then open the web 192.168.1.1/192.168.0.1 again.

              Actually it’s very easy 🙂 look at the back panel, you should see a very tiny hole; use a pin or needle to poke and hold for few second and your modem should be reset to factory setting.

              Make sure your modem is power on while doing it.

                I see.. Because, I try to login with the username and password you suggest but I cannot get in. So I was thinking if I reset the modem then I can login..

    just got this router,technician took the box..thnx for ur info paste here..but i noticed my N dongle hard to connect with this router after few change managed to get connected but only for 3 bar..prev tm d link router managed to get full/ xcelent signal..how come?this router only support G radio??

      HI Kobir,

      I really hate this modem and yes it’s a Wireless G modem. If you are surfing in a living room where your modem are, I think it’s not an issue at all. If you use this modem on a closed door and your modem is on the other side of the room or living room, then you will have a problem with low signal.

      Perhaps this is due to the design (none sticking out antenna) and it sucks quite a lot. Previously, TM provide quality DLink modem even though it is with only one antenna but the signal is way better than this Innacomm model.

      Anyway, I have since bought a new modem and this one I just put aside as a standby unit.

      P/s: How do you use your N dongle? Do you connect Streamyx modem direct to your PC and your N dongle acted as a wireless router from a PC itself?
