Why I like EchofonLite for Mac

I have tried to use multiple Twitter apps for Mac but nothing won me over like EchofonLite for Mac did. Echofon is developed by Naan studio, Inc. It’s simple yet powerful and clutter free view makes it my everyday twitter client. I like EchofonLite for Mac for two reasons, convenience tweet composer and easy to reply to multiple users with clicks.

Tweet Composer

The tweet composer on Echofon is always on the bottom and it becomes a killer feature with the combination of “click to reply”. Reply to multiple Twitter handler or users is a breeze!

How it is a breeze? You just need to hover over a tweet and click reply and continue to as many users as you like without even typing! This is a big plus for slow typist like me.

To date, I have not found one twitter client that duplicates this feature. It’s a shame other developer doesn’t see this as a greatest, awesome useful feature for a Twitter client on a PC.

It is also a shame that this feature was not present on Echofon iOS and Android app. I will not hesitate to purchase and replace Tweetbot should this feature was made available.

As you can see the developer announced dropping support for the app. I have been trying to get a replacement ever since and I have yet found one Twitter client that I truly LOVE to use.

I jump for joy when the developer updated Echofonlite for Mac with Twitter API 1.1 and a few bug fixes on May 7, 2013. These updates would guarantee my many more months of “togetherness” with EchofonLite for Mac. Till the next Twitter API, I should really appreciate and enjoy this update for now.

    • For me yes. It’s depend on what you want to do on twitter.

      1) if you want to be able tweet to Facebook or other social network — Echofon is not for you

      2) if you want to be able to view timeline on Facebook or other social network (if supported) — Echofon is not for you 🙂

      3) If you want to manage Facebook page – Echofon is not for you

hahaha actually Echofon is good for people who want a cleaner interface and focus only Twitter timeline.

Hootsuite is a full blown feature for community manager. I don’t use it often because I can’t find the “real kick” in using it.

  1. i ve used qtwitter, but now its abandoned too, other clients (like gwibber) lack features, eat too much ram, have insane dependencies or just bad..
Visiting twitter site is bad too, they dont pop up private messages as they appear… So far twicca on tablet is the most flawless twitter client :/

    • On iOS i still stick to Tweetbot, occasionally using TweetDeck and HootSuite.

Now that TweetDeck doesn’t support sharing to FaceBook I’ll be using HootSuite. I’ll give TweetDeck some time to update and I’ll see what in the sleeve, if still boring with same old feature then I’ll delete it for sure.
