I play with the developer copy of iOS 7 from day one and I have installed iOS 7 GM two days ago. iOS 7 is beautiful, slick and for new users, probably may find it confusing.

Here’s what you need to know

iOS 7 will only work with iTunes 11.1. Before you attempt any back up on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch running iOS 6, please update your iTunes to version 11.1 first.

Unless you are backing up with iCloud, you have least worry about this part.

Once you have successfully updated your iTunes to version 11.1 proceed to backing up your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch as normal.

Lastly, update your your device to iOS7.

Head up

App like Whatsapp, Line, Viper or any similar app, the data can be easily broken. You will have a hard time to retrieve your chat session. Make sure you update to iTunes 11.1 before backing up. If there is new update for these apps prior to iOS 7 release, I strongly advise you to update first.

If you are on company productivity tools, you might want to hold back your update. You should contact your company IT department and make sure the app are compatible with iOS7 before you attempt any iOS 7 update.
