I have had experiences with Mudah.my, OK one and worse one. Try to purchase and got cheated, an OK experience when I sold my camera — from the same website where I got conned off RM1750 for a MacBook Air.
I recently posted on Mudah.my again to sell my iPhone 6s 64GB Rose Gold, I have to admit — I have the feeling Mudah.my is getting creepier for me.
You do get people ask you for details. What’s creepy about these people asking for details are not because they are interested in your item — it’s more like, they ask because they can.
“Can I have the details of your item?”
What details do you want? I would refer them to check on the website and advise them to ask me for specific question if the site did not have a satisfactory answer.
“Is your item still available?”
“Yes!”
“Can you send the details to xxx-xxxxxxx”
What weirdo is this? You are messaging me with the number which is perfectly fine and you still want me to message the details to other phone number?
“Is your item still available?”
The next thing you know, they never reply you with follow up question — but posted 2 other ads on Mudah.
Will this creepy feeling gone away in the future?
As far as I know — Mudah.my didn’t change much in the pass few years. I wrote in 2013 “Is it safe to shop on Mudah.my?”
Unfortunately, we still have unsuspecting buyer fall for too good to be true pricing and the new trend of criminal — where buyer asking the seller to bank in money to the buyer for dubious transaction processing fees and unsuspecting seller fall for It.
2018 is the year where the buyer and seller got screwed front and back. 2019 and beyond should be an interesting year to watch out.
