To tell you the truth I was actually excited to check out this phone when I heard Sony is about to launch a bigger follow up of the Xperia Z. This is the first phone from Sony — with a big ass screen.

Personally I find this phone gigantic! I enjoy my 7.9 inches iPad Mini and I think at 6.4 inches Sony Xperia Z Ultra really not a thing to complain. If you felt awkward holding the phone against your ear, I guess a Bluetooth ear piece would come in handy. Trust me, after some time, you would want to just hold this phone and makes call without the Bluetooth piece — it’s human nature.

This phone comes with Sony style signature; IP58 certified – dust and water proof and as well Water resistant over 1 meter. Samsung Galaxy S4 Active which is an IP67 certified phone has reported to fail. In my opinion, you should not be immersed the phone into the water all the time.

Android Smartphone enjoys an abundance of high resolution screen these days. It felt like only yesterday, Apple dominates the world with Retina Display. Sony Xperia Z Ultra pack with 1080 x 1920 pixels, 6.4 inches (~344 ppi pixel density). The downside of having bigger screen and higher resolution is the battery, Sony address the issue with 3050 mAh battery. Looking at the spec sheet, it hopes to provide 16 hours of talk times.
