With the introduction of the newest member of the Galaxy S family, the Galaxy S5, Samsung has continued it’s hugely successful line of Android powered flagship devices that took the world by storm and captivated the imagination of all smartphone fans and enthusiasts. The new GS5 is an improvement of last year’s model the GS4, with bumped specs, increased screen size and overall boost in performance. Samsung is betting big on the current trend of fitness apps and health tracking sensors and gadgets, and is equipping the GS5 with an array of heart rate sensors and fitness applications created and designed to help the user stay fit and healthy. This concept that Samsung is pushing based around the health of the user is further proved by Samsung’s entry into smartwatches and connected devices like the Galaxy Gear 2 and the Galaxy Fit. These gadgets are meant to be used in conjunction with the GS5 and offer a complete connected experience for the user.
Last year’s GS4 was a big hit in Malaysia battling directly with it’s biggest competitor, the iPhone 5 and later in the year with the iPhone 5S.The consumers in Malaysia reacted favorably to the price offered by the variety of shops that are selling the device both via contracts with carriers across the country and in online and retail stores. Samsung is expecting a similar response with this year’s model.
The Galaxy S5 currently is prices around RM 2,300 which is a price that is attractive for a flagship model in a market that holds Samsung phones in high esteem. According to PricePanda’s statistics the price of the previous model, the GS4 dropped close to 25 % in the first 6 months of sales, so this is expected also for the Galaxy S5. Currently the GS4 is sold in Malaysia for as low as RM 1,339 and the same is to be expected for the Galaxy S5 in a year time.
According to PricePanda’s statistics the price of the previous model, the GS4 dropped close to 25 % in the first 6 months of sales
I’m tired of Samsung. What do you think of Xiaomi’s Redmi and MI3? 🙂
Didn’t pay much attention to Xiaomi but they are quite good.
The one that steal my attention away is Oppo. I’m really interested to see what Oppo Find 7a can do. it’s their low end Smartphone but to me that’s a very powerful phone; sporting 5.5″ Screen, LTE, FullHD (401PPI), MicroSD, Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801, Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 and Adreno 330.
IF you are looking for “cheap” phone. Please check out Oppo offering. Hahaha
Will you be getting one? 🙂
No, not right now.
I have Samsung Galaxy, the very first Galaxy. I think GS5 would serve others well 🙂
I currently using the Motorola Moto G and I would give HTC One(m8) or the cheapest (high end to me) Oppo Find 7a a consideration.
