I Lost My Access Right to My Harddrive With Microsoft Vista
I really do not want to go through the hassle with no right to access my own files on my own computer.
I did a clean install on my Vista over the weekend and replaces my Hard drive with 320GB from 200GB which is a 3 years old drive. To my surprise I can no longer view some of my files from my old partitions.
I’m Not Alone
Google it up I found out I’m not alone facing this dilemma. How very pretty! You can, however, fix the problem “one by one”!
Assigning Ownership Permission to your files in Microsoft Vista.
Step 1
On your file, right click> Properties> Security> Advanced> Owner> Edit> Continue> Other Users or groups> Advanced> Find Now> Double click any user you like>”OK” all the way till it closes entire the menu
Step 2
On the same file again, right click> properties> Security> Advanced> Edit> Add> Advanced> Find Now> Double click the user you have choose earlier> OK> under “allow” Click “Full control”> OK> OK
Now you can view your file.
Doesn’t Work For Me with Too Many Files
I can’t use these step to assign my files, simply too many files to go through. I need Vista Hotfix.
For now… I’m living my files in zombie stat.

Dont you see “free” ? )
Well.. if .iso from the net burned onto DVD can be genuine ))) It is. It just works ))
Not planning to use. Maybe whenever i will need DirectX10 to play somthing.. (will need new graphics card before.. and overally new PC..) not very soon )
Not using? and genuine? not planning to use? give it to me… hahaha 😛
I have a “free” windows vista ultimate with working enterprise key, no need activation
damn slow, uninstalled )
Get a boot disk, eh? hehehe
anyway… Microsoft chops Vista retail prices! sound nice for those who want to change to new OS. looking at the poll, don’t seem to work 😛
hugs
btw, since linux fully supports NTFS you can use any modern distribution LiveCD to access files on NTFS disk, try to boot and copy )
depends on the content, *nix may have problems with copyright protected content with things like DRM etc etc
Dear Silvy,
I have seen Ubuntu in action. The only thing that I can’t live without is the coolness of OS or their apps. It’s to plain. I am a Home media freak… can’t live without my Window Media center off even when I’m not watching TV or Movie. I want to save my time from trying to fix the whole thing on a UNIX base system hehehhee
I think there are plenty of apps to meet my needs right? But I am still not convincing on the “coolness” part LOL I’m a freak!
Cheers
P/s Too much relying on commercial products make me this way LOL
sorry cant suggest you anything but – use linux or older and better xp ))
blocking access to files is quite evil , damm ) one more reason not_to_use vista
