My preferred choice in Kuching is Maxis

Base on my personal experience Maxis gives the absolute best wireless access in Kuching. At least the major part of the town was covered with exceptional connection.

I have been using Celcom for many years and the wireless network is not really satisfying. Major town gets a very slow speed on 3G network. In fact, I seldom see my speed test break 4Mbps, maybe around 1Mbps to 3Mbps. Maxis on the other hand, on a good day, I see 8Mbps on a 3G network. Today I see 9Mpbs.

I (totally) have had a very, very bad experience with Digi. Not only there’s no 3G coverage in my house but you get signal loss once in a while. I stay not too far from the Kuching Internation Airport and it should make sense to have a better signal and internet connection, but, I am not happy to report – it was a bad, bad experience.

So yes, my choice at of this writing, I go for Maxis.

Will circumstances change? If pricing was the dominance factor of which Telco to choose, yes, thing may change when the three Telco finally reviewed their iPhone 5s and 5c package plan.

My choice of Telco definitely stays the same if I choose to continue to enjoy the fastest wireless network speed. Maxis, at present has proven me that they are the best in Kuching. Period.
