Pangea Day

Pangaia in greek means “all earth”

I love the idea of “Pangea Day”! You see, we are living in a beautiful world where every one wants to rules the world. When every one is busy trying to proof each and every one who’s the men, the poor and the weak who’s suffer the terrible misery!

Pangea Day is a global event bringing the world together through film.

Why? In a world where people are often divided by borders, difference, and conflict, it’s easy to lose sight of what we all have in common. Pangea Day seeks to overcome that – to help people see themselves in others – through the power of film.

What happen to the world today, you just can’t stop feeling sad and depress. So much for the ideology that kills women, children, our parents and the beloved. Of late, we have seen the worse natural disaster ever recorded and country like Burma allow their peoples to die without aids and foods. People are dying every day and we wish to do something about it! We want our wish to be granted to change the world to a better place! Jehane, TED, and the Pangea Day team have taken that first step.

4 hours of films and music was broadcast live on 10th of May, 2008 from Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai and Rio de Janeiro to mark the one day pangaia! Please watch the first 20 minutes of the broadcast below.

I am happy to have follow the 4 hours broadcast, the experience is superb! This global campaign has touched me and millions others. I hope you have enjoyed the story of Pale Blue Dot and The Ball! If the world we live in was undivided than earth is the heaven itself!

A Thousand Words is my personal favorite. It’s not hard to love and be love but sometime I think that first move is the hardest part of all. All the time we take thing for granted and only when it gone we regretted. Some time special things happen around us, on us, we are just too blind to see but we eventually realize the meaning of life.

Please log on to Pangeaday.org to learn more about this human race event, films, news, and the lovely peoples who make Pangea Day happen.

There were so many good speakers on the event, one of those who inspire me with his story was Anthropologist Donald Brown. He talks about Brunei culture where people who have lower ranking do not sit higher than the people who are higher ranking than them, it is consider impolite in Brunei culture.

Human are and must be sensitive to difference but too much focus on difference lurks behind way too much human conflict. Today, celebrating what we all have in common you should find hope and realizing how rich and numerous those commonalities are. – Donald Brown

At the end of the day, we just want to feel fine! Artist and computer scientist Jonathan Harris makes online art that captures the world’s expression. I wish the world be peace and loving, last but not least, We Feel Fine

We Feel Fine / by Jonathan Harris and Sep Kamvar
