Mountain Lion Didn’t Suck

No Problem with Mountain Lion

Good as new MacBook with my newly installed OS X Mountain Lion, productivity goes up, no sign of apps incompatibility, except one, Windows 7 didn’t show up on my bootcamp and Startup Disk.

For those of you booting up Windows with bootcamp, you might face a little trouble there, since I uses Parallels Desktop 7 courtesy of @ParallelsMac, I do not have to worry about the problems.

Installing Mountain Lion

I did not do clean install and I did not do any back up. Downloading from App Store and continue installing proven no issue. Another classic reason why OS X user, like me, are so pampered and get too carefree.

I will do a clean install when I get myself a new solid state drive(SSD).

What’s missing after installation

Power Nap

Power Nap is not available for Macbook late 2008, like mine. This feature is cool, I like my laptop still updates mail and backing up while the laptop is lid down.

Since I have bought Numbers few days ago, I now have ipad, iPhone and Macbook utilising the iCloud more extensively with Numbers. It would be so amazing if Power Nap is available. Imagine I can finish my work on Numbers and just close my MacBook without having to wait for it to finish syncing.

AirPlay

Another feature that I don’t get from my MacBook late 2008, Boo! I may not be 100% sure the feature was not available to me, since I do not owned a Apple TV yet, but few sites confirmed the issues, and my AirPlay icon is not on my MacBook.

Is Mountain Lion Worth 19.99?

To me it is. Those of you read the TechCrunch reviews, that pretty much sump it up. My take on is that, Mountain Lion upgrade did not slow down my MacBook, all apps are working, nothing breaks and nothing is missing. After the installation, every files & folders stay exactly where I last left them. Amazing! isn’t it?

If you have been saving up since Snow Leopard, it’s time you jail broken your piggy.
