Maxis 4G LTE Launched gradually in Klang Valley

What do you think about Maxis 4G LTE offer? Will you be getting one? Are these package meeting your need? or you know a better deal? Please do let me know.

I spotted Maxis updated their website yesterday evening with the launched of their 4G LTE. I like the simple and sweet introduction of evolution of mobile communication on Maxis website. Maxis was the first to launch 3G, HSPA (capable of speeds up to 14Mbps) and HSPA+ (capable of speeds up to 21Mbps) in Malaysia.

“Mobile communications began with simple voice calls on 1G or 1st generation networks. Then came SMS and basic Internet functions on 2G. Afterwards, 3G offered speeds that allowed better browsing and video streaming experience, faster downloads and various mobile applications.”

…And 2013 Malaysia will be talking about 4G LTE.

Who will be benefited from Maxis 4G LTE?

According to Maxis website “Klang Valley in the areas of Cyberjaya, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Damansara Utama, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Puchong Jaya and Bandar Sunway. Other areas that have partial coverage are SS2, Taman Paramount, Section 17 and 19 in Petaling Jaya, Plaza Damansara, Bandar Kinrara and Taman Wawasan in Puchong”

Will you be getting a Maxis 4G LTE?

For me, I will say it’s depend.

I will because…

It’s new! Digi and Celcom seem to be so gung-ho about their LTE and I haven’t seen a real deal from them yet. So yes, this is new and for the price of, say RM88 with 20GB of high speed internet up to 42Mbps, this is seriously a no brainer.

I know my brother would subscribe in a heartbeat. He plays online games and high speed is a big deal for gamers.

I will not because…

Let me recall my monthly data usage.

I know I use more than 2GB of data on my iPhone 4 on the monthly basis. I think I use more than 10GB of data per month on my Streamyx. That’s a total of 12GB of data from 9am to the time I hit the hay say at 10pm.

I would have to subscribe to Maxis’s 48GB package at RM148 per month based on my scenario. I will not be subscribing to Maxis 4G LTE. It may seem to be a sweet deal with 48GB data to consume but frankly speaking, for a normal consumer, we don’t use the internet during 2am – 8am. Use to do that when I was in the early 20s but not anymore.

You should upgrade…

If you’re currently using the Maxis broadband or from any other competitor like Celcom and you are paying for RM68 for 4GB of data, you should jump into this new and super high speed internet immediately as and when it became available in your area.

Why not? it’s a deal you don’t even need to think twice.

Where to sign up?

If you would like to be among the first to experience Maxis 4G LTE, then please walk into any of the following Maxis Centres:
