  1. config is ‘tasty’, but the price bites
I wish to get a similar lappy .. Samsung or so ;D

    • The price is not inexpensive but If you want a laptop that will still look awesomely good looking after 5 years, this piece of engineering is the right one you should buy.

My MacBook late 2008 still looking handsome today! I bought it for 4k plus… Never regretted.

      • I principially dont want to spend more than 3k RM for a laptop,
hardware is getting cheap fast, today its high end and is 5k+, tomorrow its a common mid-range and 3k. This is more true for a generic brands, Apple just remove not actual hardware from sales, can only buy used one from someone else, thats not always good.

        • You’re right.

Anyway, I given up chasing the greatest hardware or wait for the price dropped-go-grap-it for two reason.

          1) Freaking Intel changing socket fast. Even if the previous generation processors is cheap and awesome but it is not compatible on the next generation socket.

          2) In my experience motherboard get screwed pretty fast and I stucked with the previous generation hardware without a Mobo replacement. Even if there were one, I can’t commit on the exorbitant price on the previous generation Mobo. The price hike is simply because they don’t manufacture previous
          Generation Mobo anymore.

That left me hanging. That’s what happen to my HTPC that I build before – sad.

Anyway, it up for debate for many people. I don’t think I can upgrade new hardware every year too.

MacBook is the right choice for me. The price maybe expensive but if for some reason the machine didn’t work, I’ll call Apple up and they will replace a new one for me.

          I’m happy for that.

          • wise choice, in fact i feel thats catching a tail is not really needed, i got a laptop, which is use most (i3-westmere samsung), i got a netbook (hardware sux, but it fits in hotel safe !!! and its still some usb ports and good space on HDD, great to take it for a trip), i got a tablet (7″ galaxy tab) … and i still have a desktop pc, which i seldom power on now… and ofc not thinking about hardware upgrade. I dont play much games recently, so hardware upgrade is not an issue, really. Mobility. Mobile Internet – Network Access everywhere. Thats what matters.

    • I want the 13′ version. Good enough for me to last another 5 years. Although, I like the MacBook Air more. Tough choices.
