Laksa Sarawak and Milk Can

Breakfast in Kuching with Laksa Sarawak and a can of coffee

One of the attraction in Kuching is Laksa Sarawak. The awesome thing is, if you ask around in Kuching you will gets lot of recommendation for Laksa Sarawak, all of them were pretty good.

Kuchingites love to tapao their food. This is how a tapao is done in Kuching. although kuchingite are more concerne with other health related issue, the use of plastic bag for hot food, no one seem to care.

The signature tapao style that won’t happen in Western Country

Coffee Sarawak

I have my Laksa Sarawak tapao and what’s missing? Guess what’s the drink inside the milk can?

This cylindrical metal container use to be very famous Tapao style in the pass. Not many coffees shop in Kuching doing it these day.

In the old days – this is a famous way for take away drink. I guess kuchingite have already learn how to do recycle way ahead the future.

Question to the answer – The answer is Coffee 🙂

  4. Alright..I’m on my way!! Ok ..so it’s coffee in a can is it..but you must realize that’s difficult for a white woman to understand! Ahh ha ha ha

    • LOL I can’t blame you 🙂 I like what Christina said… anything thats in a plastic bag or in a condensed milk can is not for human at all hahahahha

      Cheers

  5. Haha, I “tapao” alot here in Singapore, especially dinner. =p

I was told not to use this word in Taiwan, it is associated with people placed in body bags.

    • Thanks for the info! Imagine if I walk the street in Taiwan with the brooms, mops and “Parang” flying toward me! hahahaha

      “Tapao”! wahhhhh run!

  6. Okay guys, Thank you for participating 😀 I have fun and you guys are cool!

    The answer is “Coffee”

ewwwwwwwww that was easy isn’t it? hahahahahaha

have a great weekdays all Mucks!

    • Funny faces?? hehehehehehehe <-- here I would treat you if you would fly here for holiday 🙂 we have got nice beaches and sexy sand for you to tan your skin and we have got exotic foods like the one above for your priceless experience 😀 So what do you say? packing already? don't forget your bikini wear hahahahahha Your answer is wrong! hahahhahahaha

  7. Hmm, I think packing hot food in plastic bag is not really food… here they only use microwavable containers for take-aways. And I didn’t know that there was such thing as “tapao” drinks in milk can??

    • Christina,

You don’t know leh… now you know 🙂

Anyway, your answer is still wrong hahahahaaha I know you didn’t guess ;p

  8. Maybe inside is soya drink? How come Malay eat laksa? Is that laksa halal?

Really looks great, bro. All the food you post always looks so delicious. You should be my photographer, when I come to Malaysia on a foodventure 😛

No, we don’t have food in plastic bags as a takeaway here, would look a bit weird for us, hehe.

    • Soya drink? Wrong 🙂 Actually you should have guess the right one, why would you choose Soya drink instead? ummmmm *scratch head*

Sure I’ll help you take photos but your photo skill is already awesome bro! 🙂

Think again about the answer… seriously… you know! hahahahah

  9. When I was growing up in Saudi Arabia, we used to get beans and rice Tapao style from the Afghani restaurants.

Here in Canada you’ll get breakfast in Paper and Styrofoam – hahaha.

    • Hello Bro! Good morning to you!

Long time no see and I am so happy to see you today 🙂

little thing like this brings us back to our home town eh 🙂

btw, in Canada, does every one take rice on a daily basis? truth to be told, i can’t really live without rice. Since Saudi Arabia takes rice on a regular basis does that bother you if the place we stayed has no rice?

I remember when I was in Gold Coast and the only way me and my ex-gf (now wife) to have rice is to visit chinese restaurant. Expensive!

      Cheers bro 🙂

      • If you visit here – you will find shortage of rice.

You will also find no shortage of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean & Indian Restaurants. There will be at-least one in every mall in every town.

  10. Good morning, Netster! You’re right, I don’t think I’ve ever seen breakfast food to take away that looked like that. 🙂 I’m going to guess that there is tea in the can. Did I get it right? HA HA HA! 😀 Happy weekend, my friend.

    • Good Morning Daisy!

hahahahahaha your answer is wrong 🙂

btw, So sorry to see your trees gone 🙁 for safety reason you have no choice.

      Happy weeekend to you mucks!
