Kuching Hon Yan 宏远

Doing your final or last minutes shopping for tidbits and some can drinks or foods? If you want something reasonably cheap my personal recommendation would be Hon Yan Sdn Bhd

A crate of Heineken for RM63 and I think the market price is around RM68. My favorite beryl’s Almond chocolate was sold for only RM22 while Choice Premier selling it at RM24.90. There were lot of products that selling at a price cheaper by RM1 to RM3 at Hon Yan.

The Good & The Bad
Price is really cheap! Too bad you only get this price only on Chinese New Year and not all the groceries you want are available. Apart from car park issue you’ll be sure to get lot of saving.

    • This little devil is call “Nian Gao” in mandarin. I call it Sticky Sugar Cake! You can see inside the plastic contain – brown color that’s a very sticky stuff right there 🙂 very sweet.

“Nian” in chinese can be “year” representing new year and can also mean “sticky”.

The Chinese believe eating Nian Gao is always on the 15th of Chinese New Year which is the last day of Chinese New Year. After which you will be “Year Year prosperity!”

      Awesome eh 😀

  1. I don’t like number 4, haha.. that’s because of Chinese influence. I also don’t like number 13, that’s western influence. I love 7 and 8. I need to steal your number, hehe 😛

    • lol I personally thinks friday the 13th is cute. I know many building here do not use 4th floor, 13th floor and 4th floor.

      My number nice leh 😀

      How is your 团圆饭?

    • i dont care much about particular numbers, however those like 1111 , 2222 , 3333 and likewise look funny, the round numbers are nice to remark as well, 1000, 5000, 10000 … and so on..

    • Huat Ah! so which number you scare? 4? 6? actually I don’t really care but because the influence I would prefer something less evil in the eyes of the common people common topic of mind alike (LOL)

When you’re in the biz these number make significant result. example if you’re selling insurance and your phone number is all 4 (which means die in mandarin) rest assure people will make fun of it and well never call you! It’s a silly believe but that’s how it is when it come to doing biz with the selected group of people. since my group of client is majority Chinese so better watch my mouth and my numbers.

my phone numbers end with 888 by the way. 😀

Also this year a fortune teller telling me that my number “6” are my luck this year. I read a tiny bit of Lilian Too & Jennifer Too feng shui book this year (just very tiny bit) I have to say these people so far has been right!

  2. So when do I get my Heineken crate, bro? CNY is just around the corner. My Chinese friends here are thirsty, they’re waiting. Besides, they’re hungry, too. And you know, what happens, if Chinese are hungry? x_x So please don’t forget to add 100 rolls of popiah and express fedex it to Slovenia. Thanks. Bye 😛

    • I will send some Tsingtao Beer over to you too! 100 rolls of popiah through express would be a bit slow though .. maybe I should use private jet! hahhaha

Gong Xi Fa Cai to you and your friends and rest assure that the alcohol and popiah will reached in time 😀
