iPhone 4S 16GB Celcom vs Maxis vs Digi which is the best price?
For this comparison purposes I use iPhone 4S 16GB – lowest plan from Maxis iValue 1 and iDigi 88. As for the big blue Celcom i98 plan were use instead. Celcom i68 is their new addition and I like to continue using Celcom i98 as a follow up to previous post.
Total Cost Owning iPhone 4S
I notice a slight increased in price for Celcom and Maxis – between RM180 to RM310. Digi come in RM72 cheaper compare to their previous pricing.

What’s New in Celcom, Maxis and Digi iPhone 4S Plan?
Maxis
Generously 4GB of free WIFI access – although the coverage is not across Malaysia but it still a great addition. Some customer may find this offer redundant.
Digi
This is probably the biggest year for the Yellow Man. You get an impressive discount on iDigi 88 (37.50%) iDigi 138 (36.23%) and iDigi 238 (34.45%) and that’s how you arrived with the discount of RM872, RM1280 and RM2048, which frankly lots of people get so confused how did Digi came out with the figure. Yellow Man sacrificed and works really hard for iPhone 4S.
Celcom
New i68 package was introduced – to be honest it was what Maxis do with the iValue Lite few months ago to counter Celcom being the new player in the field. The only different is Celcom slightly bum up the free Data to 800MB, free 100 SMSes, 15 cents voice call, free 3000 minutes onnet voice call and less generous with free 50 minutes offnet voice call.
Verdict
Maxis switching Free SMS MMS from offnet to onnet really put the competitor on upper hand. Enticing users with free 4GB free WIFI – it’s awesome but if you’re outside of Klang Valley (for now) you really don’t get to enjoy the service that come with the package you paid for. Maxis by far offer the best free 333minutes voice call.
Maxis collected 8 stars
Celcom price has increased this time around but still maintain the free 6000 minutes free call within network but being the lowest free call across network of 100 minutes doesn’t really stand out. Free 2GB of data is above the rest – Awesome!
Celcom Collected 10 stars
Digi maintain almost all of the features, rate and benefits and with iDigi package plan the company provide 34% – 37% discounts with auto billing RM55 is also the lowest monthly commitment fees we’ve see in this price fight!
Digi collected 9 stars
The Winner – Digi
Here’s your cheapest! Despite the fact Celcom winning one extra star you can not denied the total cost is still the preferred decision making by the consumers. I am giving Digi TWO extra point for maintaining the price point and for the free delivery service. The little extra customer service came in handy.
The best value with the lowest total cost and lowest monthly commitment fees on 24 months contract – your winner is Digi.
