3 telcos head-to-head selling iPhone 4 plans In Malaysia, which is the best price?

I have run through the list of entry level iPhone 4 plans (16GB & cheapest plan) for you to easily owned your favorite iPhone 4. I hope this would give you the best ideas which telco to choose from. Please share this article to your friends so they too can get the best out of the best.

It’s clear in these categories fight Celcom and Digi are game on! Digi lose out to Celcom for the iPhone 4 prices and the fact that Digi did not offering 12-month contract gave Celcom the advantage in this category. Digi however, counter launch RM200 discount as soon as Celcom launching their iPhone 4.

Other than Prices of phone, competitive mobile calls and data usage, signal strength in your areas for the chosen telco it’s all come down to the one last piece of information, that’s total cost.

The winner of this price fight (before discount) for entry-level categories is Celcom!

Celcom shine with 11 stars in this comparison. Total overall cost to own this phone is cheaper by about RM100 – 200. The Upfront payment of RM300 and RM420 would be divided by 12 month and will be credited into the phone bill monthly.

Celcom is also generous with free data of 2GB and free 6000 minutes of calls time within network. Speed throttles effective immediately after the 2GB of data are fully utilized.

iPhone 4 12 month winner is Celcom

All in all, The best package to own a iPhone 4 12 month contract is definitely with Celcom plan. While 24 months contract is with Digi. Digi’s RM200 discount is ending by end of May after this date Celcom would be the best choice.

The downside in choosing Digi however, they did not offer iPhone 4 white as of this writing.

The future of smart phone should not cost more than RM1000 and at the price of RM1148, Celcom  is definitely offer the best in the market yet!

  1. […] For this comparison purposes I use iPhone 4S 16GB – lowest plan from Maxis iValue 1 and iDigi 88. As for the big blue Celcom i98 plan were use instead. Celcom i68 is their new addition and I like to continue using Celcom i98 as a follow up to previous post. […]

  3. Hi.. Err. So, because now is Nov already, may I know which telco provides the best deal for the 32gb Iphone4? I am planning to buy one and really don’t want people/family/irritating colleagues to say this and that AFTER I bought it.. At least I can counter attack them with info I found in here 😉

    • Hahaha 🙂 I find it funny that you you describe “irritating colleagues” – we can’t run away from opinionated people can we?

I think your request has a relevant to the current transition between iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Okay I’ll do some comparison although we should see a big different in price within the next 20 days should Maxis, Digi and Celcom pumping out their iPhone 4S.

Thank you for taking time to comment – Appreciate it.

      • Hi, kindly let me know once u almost got the news that iphone 4s is reaching Kuching? =)coz ur saying in next 20days so estimate by 26/11 this month isit?^^

        • Lets hope so that it is out by 26 🙂 hopefully early before Christmas? We just never know what the telco is planning 😉 (all are rumors)

          • Yea,hope so too:) Btw just wondering how will we know once the telcos esp.Celcom come out with the new iphone 4s plan?(hope their package are still affordable as the iphone 4 that u’ve made the comparision and i’m absolutely agreed) (:

  4. Hi there,

Im planning to get Iphone 4, ok obviouslyyy celcom is the best package. however. which telcos is the best internet connection? i lived in shah alam. i hate when it shows edge edge edge.. i want 3G all the timeee.. 🙂

    • Acoo,

Here’s few tips for you – I did the same when I was planning to get the best 3G coverage.

      First,
Follow these links to see if your telco got you covered at your area

      >>http://www.celcom.com.my/exec/vas/vas_data_3g_coverage.php
      >>http://www.maxis.com.my/3G/coverage.htm

      Second,
If you have a chance – check the 3G signal strength from the phone from different telco that your family members or your friends currently using in your house.

In My household we uses Celcom and Maxis so I’m very well aware of the signal from these telco. As for Digi – I bought the prepaid card for RM10 and bring it home to test the signal strength.

      Lastly,
There’s no sure way to determine the best 3G-always on service from all these telco. In my house area there a big billboard at the road side says “This is Celcom territorial” but the service was bad – Maxis rules our housing area with the best 3G signal.

I bought my iPhone 4 from Celcom despite Edge coverage at my housing area – reason being I’ve got Streamyx at home so without 3G coverage is not a main concern for me.

For town areas I think we can rest assure most places were covered by 3G service and if your work is stationary (or school) – I guess it won’t be too much problems for you.

      I hope these help 🙂

      • Thanks a zillion for your explanation. it’s really helps. so far when comes bout connection, DIGI is never in my idea about that. all I hear from my friends. “DIGI’s connection sucks.” I think Maxis is the chosen one. but their services and extra paid shocking bill have made me switch to Celcom. Bt now unfortunately I subscribe celcom postpaid with advanced plan for BISplan its hardly covered in my area, onkly edge edge edge. thus, I really want to know, is it wise choice to choose celcom i98(2GB) or i148(4GB) than any maxis plan. coz maxis even 70 its only 500mb. and 2GB equal with celcom is cost bout 155. wayyy ridiculously expensive and unreliable..

anyway thank u jong for ur effort replied. appreciated it much!

        • No problem man I’m glad it helps 🙂

As to the choice of i98 or i148 I think if your heavy user you should go for the the later – only if you extra cash to spend.

Have you got your iPhone already? If you have not I suggest that you hold off your purchase – iPhone 5 is on it way and if you can wait for 1 or 2 month it would give iPhone 4 a cheaper price either way you get the best and latest next generation iPhone.

          Cheers

  5. Also if you guys are planning to get an iPhone, i suggest wait till end of September. It’s just a rumors that Apple will release a new iPhone.

    • Hi:-

They don’t have 1 year contract as of my writing. You can’t pay cash to get 1 year contract. They simply don’t have 1 year contract.

      🙂

  6. Does Celcom charge usage after the 2GB cap is used up?

What about the speed & coverage?

    Regards
    CL

  7. Bro, I’m mad busy! Mad busy! Work from 9-20 every day, waste 1h to job and 1h to back, I have no life, but work. • thank you for your information but as far as i know, digi has special promotion which is digi has the auto billing system.
As example if you take the iDigi 88 plan, rm 63 permonth.
if you use the auto billing system, the amount for monthly is reduce to rm 58.
so its save you rm 5 per month and for 2 years it will save you rm 120.
as you mention, the total cost for 2 years is rm 3602, its for the rm 63 per month.
but if you use the auto billing system, the total cost for 2 years is rm 3482.
i refer to this official digi website
        http://www.digi.com.my/iphone/getone_want_iphone.html

its just my opinion, no offense. thank you. 🙂

        • You’re not wrong at all and Digi in fact running the limited time promotion for RM200 discount as well (as of my writing)

I think I can put that one in 🙂 although it’s very subjective. For customers without credit cards they won’t enjoy that special discount. RM120 is a lot of money too.

          Thank you
