    • Hello Damian,

Thank you and that’s a very good question, I am sure a lot of people have the same thought before deciding which one to buy.

Based on personal experience, I say go for the Wi-Fi + Cellular (current iPad Mini Retina support LTE & 3G)

I have iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G and then early this year I bought an iPad Mini WI-Fi version and I regretted not taking the WI-Fi + 3G version.

Admittedly the price difference is about RM420 but my rationalization is this; You will definitely bring your iPad Mini Retina out with you and you need Internet access. One, tethering with your phone will suck your phone’s battery dry and Two, getting a good and cheap MIFi might cost you around RM200. Instead of going through this hassle, my suggestion is to spend that RM420 extra to get an iPad Mini Retina Wi-Fi + Cellular version.

If you wish to save RM420 maybe it is also a good idea to just get the Wi-Fi version. Think about the long term usage of your iPad (the A7 processor is a powerful 64-bit chip and will last a long time) and definitely spending another RM420 is still just worth it.

Thank you again, for your comment and question.
