iOS 7: Beta

WWDC 2013 keynote finally shows us the IOS 7 design! Chris Pirillo surprisingly dislikes the new design. The biggest shocker come from a Windows guy, Paul Thurrott! He want to try iOS 7 and it’s hard to believe a Windows fan would give it a thoughts. I welcome his curiosity.

Basically 9to5 got it right, the flat design and the leaked photos. For many years now, Mark Gurman has got a great leaks on the Apple news. Someone mention about the new iOS 7; it is either the present customer hates it or the new customer would totally love it. I guess it is both true. It is also true that present customer, like me, love the new change.

Anyway, It is not a surprise famous people dislike iOS 7. For whatever reason, people just can’t easily be pleased. If Apple isn’t having changes or anything to wow, the pundit says Apple is not innovating, lag behind Android. But when Apple does make some changes, they were labeled as a copycat instead. The Verge labeled Apple as “simply confusing”

  1. I think they completely leapt over the competition when it comes to the out of the box experience, because they added more functionality. I welcome the change, but I have to yet experience it, because I also like iOS6 design. I wonder, if I will update it on my iPad, though. Let’s see what the fall will bring.

    • After playing with it for three days, I like iOS 7 a lot. Noted that you have to get use to the new modern design but once you use it long enough it just grow on you.

There’s reason why skeuomorphic was Apple most successful design. The relate to real world thing makes even kids know how to use an iPhone or iPad. However, the touch screen interface has matured and its time Apple move away from imitating real world object.

When iOS 7 is released this fall, I think you will very much tempted to change. 🙂
