Streamyx Quick Setup (Innacomm W3400V6)

This how-to is for the antenna less orange modem (Innacomm W3400V6) that was supplied by TM. This is a Wireless G ADSL 2+ modem. The latest version Wi-Fi is Wireless AC and the becoming affordable good wireless is the Wireless N as of this writing in 2013.

Why TM provides Wireless G to me on my 2Mbps subscription is beyond me. I think TM being stingy and this modem is the worse TM modem ever. That said, this is probably the first ipv6 capable modem TM ever provided.

Step One: Log in to your modem with Mac or Windows

This is not your typical admin/admin login. It is slightly technical and if this is your first time, it may be confusing. The good news is, once you logged in the modem, the quick setup is really straightforward and easy to do.

  1. Open your browser and point to http://192.168.1.1
  2. Username: tmadmin
    Password: Adm@_ _ _ _ (followed by the 4 last digit of the Mac ID found on your orange box or underneath the modem it self)
  3. Select “Quick Setup Mode“

Step Two: Setup Streamyx connection with username & Password

  1. Connection Type: Select “Router mode”
  2. Type in your Streamyx username
  3. Type in your Streamyx password
  4. Select “Enable IPv6“

TM has since activated IPv6 for its customer. By enabling IPv6, it doesn’t make your internet connection superior; if you’re wondering. TM randomly auto assign IPv4 and IPv6 when you connected to the internet.

Step Three: Setup SSID

  1. Wireless ID: Give your wireless network a special name.
  2. Security Type: Select “WPA”
  3. Network Key: Type in a strong 13 characters password (Max 64 characters).
    (Pair with capital & small letter, numbers and special symbols ~!@#$%^&*() password)

Step 4: Verify details, click “Save” and you’re done!

    Sorry for interrupt.
    I’ve login the setup using username tmuser and the same for its paswword.
    Im not using tmadmin and Adm@**** as it doesnt work. How could it happen?
    After that,
    How do I get streamyx username and password?
    Should i call 100 or it has its default?

    • HI, Please use your own modem login ID and password to login. Do not use the Adm@*** if it is different than my tutorial.

      As for Streamyx ID & Password;
      You need to call 100 to reset your password.**
      You can get your Streamyx ID from your bill.

      ** alternatively if you have register yourself with MYTM (https://mytm.tm.com.my) you can reset your own Streamyx password from there.

  2. this modem keep corrupting any file bigger than 100 MB that i download. i been focusing on my computer for a fix for months and when i divert my attention to this shit modem it GOT TEMPORARILY FIXED. does anyone experienced this problem? what shit did they disabled in their modem settings to get it fixed??

    • I have never had any issue with big files download over my 20 years of experience in downloading files from the internet and you are have a very interesting issue.

      Try use a public DNS like the one provide by Google https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

      The DNS provided TM 1.9.1.9 probably was the culprit because I have issue download file hosted in the US — Example Apple.com.

      • yeah trust me. my life as a network security geek and graduate this was my first time encountering this problem and it was horrible since i was figuring out the solution for months. google DNS is a-ok since its just a host domain resolver name. i never used the default dns provided cuz i know it sux bawls lol.

        It is a big problem since my phone update its firmware and the firmware corrupted and so on. basically any devices that had a firmware update is screwed and i had to figure out how to re-roll or reset the whole damn thing.

        anyway i had it fixed or .. a workaround. i changed the MTU & TCP MSS and right now I am regularly downloading random rar files to check if there is no auto-update which rewrite my settings.

        Finally i just vented off to innacom support by demanding their old drivers or latest drivers so i can get THEIR problem fixed on my end and save them the trouble from using an ounce of their brain cells which probably doesnt even exist.

        ohhh my god im so angry with their quality. i think ill buy a new american brand router later to permanently fix this problem.

  4. Modem ni memang wifi signal dia tak kuat ya? Rumah saya baru tukar modem baru ni. Makin teruk signalnya. Yang sebelum ni sampai dalam bilik saya tapi sekarang signal tu dah tak ada once saya dah masuk bilik. Hmm

  6. hi! anyone know how to block unauthorized MAC addredss from accessing wifi? in other word to block the wifi thief. anyone know? please share.

    • Log in to your modem and change your modem password and wifi password. The theft will not be able to use your Wifi anymore.

  7. Is this disscusaion still alive?
    I have problem with the login. After I logged to the TM 196.168.1.1/login.htm , it redirected me to 196.168.1.1/login.cgi with a blank page. Any idea why?

  8. I have already login. Unfortunately, after the login, it gives me blank a webpage at 192.168.1.1/login.cgi .
    Am I the only one that encounter this problem?

    • John, try using different browser to test. If all browsers give you the same blank screen, I can only assume your modem have been strike by thunder. If so, please get a new modem. This modem sucks!

    • Hi, kalau you pakai modem lama; kemungkinan besar modem dah ada masalah. Kalau modem baru, ini sepatutnya tak berlaku. Guna cabel computer untuk akses modem dan buat setting semula. Ikut arahan di atas.

    • saya reset gak aritu …baru je lepas reset semalam 28 dis 2015…pas reset, wifi takde… so saya on balik modem, macam biasa… pastu saya tekan WPS button yang belakang modem tu…so sy masuk wifi pakai WPS tu je…then setting balik macam bro thisbeast tulis di atas…. saya buat jadi hehehe…try ler korang…
