If you happen to lose your phone; misplace or got stolen, what should you do with your SIM card? Normally it is fairly easy but if the incident happens to you, chances are you need some help with your SIM card.
My father in law lost his phone in his workplace and since the card was registered in my name, I need to get the SIM card replace ASAP to avoid misuse of the mobile number. I am glad that the government imposed a compulsory registration for all prepaid number and because of that you can get your card replaced on the spot and you get back your favorite mobile number.
How-to replace Maxis SIM card
- Call Maxis customer service at 123. You can call using any Maxis mobile number, service is free
- Report lost SIM card
- Visit any Maxis Center or authorize reseller for a SIM card replacement. You pay RM10 for the SIM card and as for repeat offender, you could be charged RM25 for card replacement
- You get your SIM card on the spot and mobile number will be activated within 30 minutes or more
I hope this information helps you obtaining your new SIM card in no time.

I just want to ask, if i lost my prepaid sim card and i am at oversea. How can i resolve this issue?
Frankly, I am not sure how are you going to resolved the issues.
If I was in your situation, I probably would do this
1) Is the number important? If not important I’ll just let it go. Just use the local SIM from other country and probably it would be way cheaper.
2) If the number is very important than I would call Maxis or get hold of them on twitter @MaxisListens and ask for their advise.
I hope this helps. I may not be very helpful to you. I do hope you got your SIM sorted out soon.
Cool way to get it replaced easily does this applies to postpaid as well? Just ‘migrated’ from Celcom only yesterday under wifey’s package and quite new with Maxis. Facing a challenge with online transfer as my mobile TAC not functioning now. tQ
Hello Bananaz! Long time no see!
Yes, same for postpaid in case you misplace your SIM.
I am guessing you’re using LTE now? 🙂
If you have set the your mobile number on your banking account then it should be fine. Other wise you need to go to the bank and make amendment to your new phone number.
Example: Maybank; go to their ATM machine to register your phone number for under M2U menu.
Cheers
No LTE maybe later. Phone number no change just a the ISP. Shall sort it out with Maybank tQ
btw Bananaz, if your phone number never change; it more likely the browser you use does not support Maybank payment site or sometime the system generating the TAC is just lagging.
I face the similar issue all the time.
