An unauthorized biography of Marissa Mayer, the CEO of Yahoo written by Nicholas Carlson really gives me an invaluable knowledge of women in technology.

I really don’t care about Marissa Mayer and Yahoo but now I am keeping my eyes open for Marissa’s news; I am simply blown away by Marissa’s charisma and talents.

Her growing up story and the way she challenges her thinking to solve a problem inspires me.

“When Marissa became captain of the pompom squad, she wasn’t in with that clique of girls, but she won them over in three ways.”

“It’s not what Zune knows, it’s how Zune thinks.”

The Truth About Marissa Mayer: An Unauthorized Biography

Google is losing a very capable employee to Yahoo and I think Google is regretting it. Google’s founder, Larry Page probably knocks his head on the wall for making a mistake in dating her and losing the opportunity to make Marissa a key person in Google.

I can’t help but feeling Marissa Mayer has the Steve Jobs DNA, She is very focused on her work and ignore lots of people in making sure products is out the door on time.

The biggest admiration that I have for Marissa Mayer is her ability to stay focused. She makes tough decision and people quits.

You must read “The Truth About Marissa Mayer: An Unauthorized Biography” by by Nicholas Carlson. I fall in love with his writing and if he would publish his own book in the future, I would buy.

One more thing, All Things D Kara Swisher was a biggest Yahoo news leaker. She has a board-level connection to source her news. I think that was really cool for her.

Anyway, She didn’t know Yahoo was hiring Marissa as the new Yahoo CEO. She probably is scratching her head when Yahoo makes Marissa Mayer the new CEO.

    • Ya, Maybe she a Steve Jobs incarnation 😀 but I can feel that she is as rebel as Steve Jobs. She wants what she want and that’s how she get her things done even though people in her office don’t like it.

Examples of this; she build a nursery in her office for herself so she can be with her baby, She stop all the mom working from home, she is late for meeting making people wait for her, and I guess the list would just pile up as I learn more about this talented women.

I am really inspired. If you want a leader that you will remember for life — this girl could be it!

Yes, looks like she has Steve Jobs DNA, at least some 😀
