Guided Access bug in iOS 7

iOS 7: Guided Access

Apple introduced a new feature called Guided Access in iOS 7. You can access them by going to Accessibility (General >Accessibility >Guided Access). Accessibility on iOS or Mac is designed to help special individual to use Apple products with ease.

To activate the feature you need to turn it on from Accessibility and triple click from any open app to on or off the feature. Guided Access is a feature whereby you can lock part or whole of your screen.

iOS 7: Guided Access

This is especially handy, if you are like me; You want to lock part of the screen to avoid app quitting by the waving hands of a super active 7 months baby Giselle.

I use it on my iPad Mini this evening. I play video recording from my photo library and activated the Guided Access feature. Unfortunately there seem to be a bug that does not allow me to turn off the Guided Access feature so I can get back to my iPad’s main screen.

I tried triple click and set the Guided Access off but failed. I can only view photos and play video on my photo library but I have no way to turn off Guided Access via triple click shortcut.

How to Restart your iPad and deactivate the Guided Access?

If you are suffering from the same situation, you can restart the iOS 7. Hold your power and home button concurrently and few seconds later, iOS 7 will restart and it should back to normal after the system restart.
