Dumpling Festival & The mystery of the standing eggs

Happy Dumpling Festival

Yesterday was a special day, Duan Wu Jie (in mandarin).

According to a story, a famous chinese poet was drown in the river. Worry his remains maybe eaten by the sea creatures, the villages threw some foods dumpling into the river, so the sea creatures will not harm his remains.

After many days of trying, the villages realized, his remains will never be found. In order to cherish the life of this famous poet, the villages decided that, this date, to be a day to remember as the Dumpling Day in honor of the poet.

Okay I made that up.

Dumpling (Photos)

I’m sure you’ll love it, stuffed with meats, peanuts, and  the sweet fragrance. makes you drooling.

The mystery of the standing eggs

The next most exciting story would be the standing eggs. Have you tried it? check out my video on standing egg.

So what do you think, amazing isn’t it? You can try it too, here’s your tip… you can try it on the very first day of the spring or autumn.

Why the eggs stand?

How is it possible? Actually it’s more of a science. During spring or autumn, the surface are pointing directly at the sun and gravity make standing egg possible.

Happy trying and good luck.
