Drop the “Pro” from MacBook Pro 13-inch Two Thunderbolt 3 ports, I concur. Drop the price slightly, this would be the sweet Christmas gift.

Specs don’t matter? Actually, it does matter if the machine is built by Apple. If Intel dual-core i5 runs super fast on a new MacBook Pro, then dual-core i7 would just be blazing fast. Leaving smoke trails with the burned rubber smell.

However, I do believe Apple builds their new laptop base on the best “Performance per watt” standard.

Probably, that’s explained why this new lineup is maxes out at 16GB of RAM even on a top end model running core i7.

In Malaysia, this one cost RM6299. In fact, it is cheaper to buy in Malaysia. In the US, MacBook Pro 13-inch Two Thunderbolt 3 ports cost USD1499, after conversion it cost RM6320. RM6299 is inclusive GST, so yeah, it is way cheaper getting a MacBook Pro in Malaysia.

Visit Malaysia? Don’t forget to bring home a new MacBook 💻 Pro!

The price of a MacBook Pro has increased significantly (it seems). The tech pundits said that. This one, only Tim Cook and the economists can explain. Perhaps Inflation is the subject I need to take if I am going to understand the price of a MacBook Pro. (Ok, maybe not)

In 2006, when the first MacBook Pro was announced by Steve Jobs, the best and greatest specs were with a starting price of USD1999.

After a decade, maybe we want to see the pricing differently. See Different the new Think Different.

See Different the new Think Different.

1 inch thin and 5.6lbs selling at USD1999 in 2006 vs. 14.9mm (0.587-inch) thin 1.37kg (3.02lbs) selling at USD1499 in 2016.

Anyway, buy now, save up or buy next year, the option is still open 🙂 you don’t have to spend today.

i3 i5 or i7 do not mattter as much as generation of the chipset
first featured such names with Nehalem
they go with Westmere, SandyBridge, IvyBridge
Haswell-Broadwell which featured revolution on powersave
    SkyLake-KabyLake
TechProcess shrinked from 45nm to 14nm with SkyLake
and all of them have i3 (processor with some features cut, but still powerful compared to celerons etc)
i5 – all normal generation features processor

i7 – may contain extra features not present in i7, notably frequency boost is allowed much widely than with i5, so single threaded app can ‘overclock’ the core above normal limits

I use 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 on my MacBook Air (11-inch, Mid 2013). it would be nice to have the latest and greatest if we have that extra cash.

I wonder how it like to use a i7 desktop processor. I don’t use desktop for more than a decade now.
