Can your none Apple tablet still work with a screen like this?

image

This is my iPad 2 and I use it daily at my clothing shop with a screen like this. I have changed the screen once before and this is not the Apple original screen.

Almost every customer who makes payment at the counter would ask me if this tablet still works.

It still does!

  1. what about battery ? still holds the almost same time between recharges or significantly shortened?

    • I use my iPad 2 from 930am to 630pm daily. If 100% charged it can last 2 days. If on screen time is longer, by the end of the day I need to charge it.

Not bad for a few years old tech.

      • 2 days? Yes, still not bad and usable. I take battery life as criteria for EOL of device, if its resource significantly low – time to get new gadget/phone/tablet/whatever …My Galaxy Tab II still lives about 2 days too (not very intense usage), so i am not looking for replacement yet

        • My Moto G is still pretty good for my day to day usage. Battery getting worse after few months use but I can’t complain since it was a low end phone and I guess the battery won’t be the top class hardware. I need to charge my phone pretty regularly. probably due to Kitkat 4.4.4 too but still a great device. I love my Moto G.

          * regularly as in if I got in a car, I would be charging it. Other wise I will let it drain till 20% and charge it after I got home.

  2. I still use my iPad 2 on a daily basis (I’m thinking of buying a new iPad Mini once this year’s model comes out). The iPad 2 together with an Apple bluetooth keyboard is the perfect note-taking device. In the meantime my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition has been sitting there collecting dust for months. It occasionally whistles to remind me that it still exists.

    • I love my iPad Mini. Only regrets I didn’t get the one with cellular version.

Looking forward to hear what you going to get from Apple soon. The iPad announcement is coming next week, October 16.

If the rumoured 12″ or 12.9″ iPad Pro is real (the name, iPad Air Plus seem to be making more sense at this point) you can use it with your Apple Blue Tooth keyboard, that would be sweet 🙂

      • The iPad Mini 3 announcement was a huge disappointment (seriously, Apple?) =/ I’ll probably just get the iPad Air 2 instead. If the iPad Pro comes with a stylus and decent drawing apps then I could consider that as well.
