The brown rice was known to contained high nutrition the skillful mixed of brown rice and sweet white rice makes this porridge taste really smooth and yummy.

Cooking brown rice is a very tricky business not many find brown rice sexy and mouthwatering especially kids. I did not like brown rice even till today but with this very special brown rice meat porridge I can have another bowl to go.

  1. Hi Netster! I don’t think we have a breakfast here like that. Something similar, though, would be hot cooked oatmeal or hot cream of wheat, both that I like. We usually make them with milk and sometimes sugar, brown sugar, or fruit added to it.

What kind of meat did you put in that? We don’t usually have meat in our hot cereal here.

    Have a good weekend! 🙂

    • Daisy, having porridge in the morning is consider a heavy meal for me 😀 I like oatmeal too but never tried with fruits hahahahaha.

The meat inside? hehehehe there are two type, chicken and pig 😀

      Happy Weekend too

@David sounds like an adventure 😀

  2. Lulu’s suggestion is great. Will try it out . In one of my travels, I came across a food shop in Hat Yai – Thailand, they call it the “Emperor’s” porridge.

No milk added. It reminds me of my school days in London in the cafeteria.

The “Emperor’s porridge is cooked with brown rice with sliced chinese mushroom, minced pork balls and garnished with finely sliced ginger, chopped spring onions , fried onions/garlic and a dash of grounded pepper – white / black. Option a dash of sesame oil. On one occasion I was disappointed when they ran out of fried dumpling- Ewe Char Koay! Free bananas were severed as desert.
