CoconutBattery has new updates
Finally! It’s been an ages since the last update. CoconutBattery does a good job by showing your Macbook, Macbook Pro and Macbook Air’s battery capacity and has an ability to save those records for comparison so you are aware of the health of your battery over time.
Personally I have been using CoconutBattery to record the capacity of my new Mac battery and as well the old one since I got my Macbook in 2009.
CoconutBattery 2.7.1 improve compatibility for Mac OS Lion and some other bug fix. If you have never use CoconutBattery before – give it a try with the new update you might just love it.
Although I really wish to have a better control for CoconutBattery – example showing graph, function to drain your battery, information on average longevity of your battery loadcycles compare to factory setting and real world usage – but I guess CoconutBattery is the closest thing you have to better understand your battery health that you can have for free.
CoconutBattery 2.7.2 Updates
• Version 2.7 and above will only run on MacBooks/Pros/Airs • Added an export to csv option of the saved battery data (for import to Numbers or Excel) • Fixed a bug where coconutBattery did not work correctly on some MacBook Pros (-1 values) • Minor bugfixes •

for linux one can use ‘acpitool -B’ (if acpi driver shows battery info properly)
