Finally Apple TV is available for purchase in Malaysia.
You can get your Apple TV immediately on Apple Store Online.
Why should you get an Apple TV? Good question.
AirPlay
If you’ve been waiting for the moment, to blast your Mac OS (Mirroring Mountain Lion), iPad, iPod and iPhone wirelessly, this is your moment.
If you’re already in Apple ecosystem, this is undoubtedly a convenience piece of hardware with a price tag of RM349.
I already have few ideas how to use it at home, example, play Podcast from my iPhone or MacBook, play movie (PPS, TED, Cnet etc…) all wirelessly to my Samsung 40″ HDTV via an Apple TV.
Recently, I got a little bit cranky, I play iOS game with my iPad 2 with Apple Digital AV Adapter connected. It was not fun.
So, Why should you buy? I would, because I already live in Apple ecosystem, the extra convenience would make a lot of different on how I consume my digital contents as well as the improved experience with hardware interaction.
Don’t sell your current media player yet
This new Apple TV will never be able to replace your current media player. Like I mention, if you’re already in Apple ecosystem, Apple TV is awesomely convenience.
I owned A.C.Ryan Playon!HD Mini 2, and I knew, I will not be able to throw it away — This is my main reason.
Apple TV Video Format Supported
- H.264 / m4v / MP4 / MOV/ MPEG-4 / Motion JPEG (M-JPEG)
A.C.Ryan Video Format Supported

You can see why, don’t you? Your favorite Russian roulette, MKV, missing support on Apple TV. You don’t think for a moment, Apple would just allow you to do something naughty do you?
Joke aside, many company, Apple and Microsoft especially, will not be simply supporting abundance of video/audio codecs. In fact, if possible, all films and musics industry would want to have their own video and audio codecs.
There’s always two side of a coin, there’s good and bad. Where’s my Ms. Matroska?
