Interesting day today! I was helping a customer solving “Package File Invalid” error on his Samsung Galaxy Note. I solved it but I thought the whole incident was hilarious and ridiculous.
First, I’m going to show you three basic steps. You should do these steps before you send your phone for fixing.
Step One
Please make sure your phone getting an Internet connection. Launch your favorite browser, Chrome, Dolphin or FireFox on your Android phone to test your Internet connection.
Step Two – Clear data & cache for Google Play Services
On your Android phone, go to >Apps >All >Google Play Services >Clear data >Clear cache
Step Three – Clear data & cache Google Play Store
Repeat step two but this time clear data and cache for Google Play Store
On your Android phone, go to >Apps >All >Google Play Store >Clear data > Clear cache
Hilarious and ridiculous
Now, the second part of the story. I spend almost 30min with the phone, patiently I prompt the customer and then uninstalled the last app that customer installed. It didn’t help.
Customer getting downhearted, my friend suggests going to a repair shop; that’s when I told the customer “let me try for the last time!”
As soon as I try to use the browser it hit me right there and then, the Internet was not active because Maxis blocked the Internet!
Sometime a problem is not a problem at all. Lesson learned.
