MBO Kuching the first Digital 3D Cineplex in east Malaysia

I love watching movies and with high-tech cinemas, watching a full length 3D is never gonna be the same again.

I pay for G-FORCE DISNEY DIGITAL 3D through MBO ticketing kiosk, absolutely convenience!

MBO charged RM19/ticket for member and RM20/ticket for non member. The price is almost equal to GSC Gold Class ticket and or 8 bowls of Laksa Sarawak/ Kolok Mee.

You will be given 3D glasses prior entering the Cineplex and you have to return it when you done using. Still keeping Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Tour 3-D glasses? Want to give it a try?

This is a non THX hall, bummer!

MBO did not equip the best silver screen to their entire 8 Cineplex. Hall 5 is uniquely large and better screen. Spaces are cozy right down to between our legs. Hall 3, 5 thumb up. Hall 6, 7 thumb down! I am yet to visit the remaining 4 halls.

Check out these 3D images (image below) from hall 5 screen. Stunning! There were few 3D movies trailer shown, namely Avatar and Cloudy with a chance of Meat Balls (what a wonderful long movie title!).

MBO provide Dolby Digital sounds system. For a change we prefer DTS and SDDS setup for some kick! I had a great time with the 3D cinematic experience, really awesome! Avatar would be my next wish list.

MBO has all the advantage over it competitor, been the first operator to bring 3D cinematic and the convenience of ticketing kiosk, MBO should be on top list choice.

I went to The Spring yesterday. I have been wanting to buy a new wallet for quite sometime but didn’t decided on any brand until yesterday.

This wallet price at RM215 (USD62) and I only pay for it (exactly) RM32 (USD9). Collecting points, redeem gifts vouchers and pay for your goods. Not shabby at all.

How much do you normally spend?

I have been using Bonuslink card for a long time I brought it with me every where I go, especially to Parkson Grand @ The Spring. My Bonuslink points allows me to redeem for RM90 and another RM50 from Maybank credit card’s point and of cause another 20% discount on the Guy Laroche wallet itself. All in all I pay for only RM32 for the wallet. pretty smart!

Tips on more Bonuslink Points

Only shop with your credit card that gives you cash rebate and allows you to collect points.
Pump your petrol at the station where you get to collect points. I collect my Bonuslink point collection @ Shell.
Only shop at shopping complex to collect x2, x3 or even x4 points during certain month of pre-sales or any monthly surprise sales.
Service your car only at the workshop that offer bonuslink points.
Concentrate on using one reward card.

I took these photos on Jan 12, 2008. If you have not been to The Spring, well this is for you. The idea of shopping mall in Kuching is over whelming. I pay a visit again last saturday, more shops were open @ HSL, Sony and many more. You can head over to both shops now for their 32 inches LCD promotion.

Both Samsung & Sony 32 inches LCD is for only RM2888 – RM3300! If you know what you are looking for, these 2 selection might fit the bill for your Chinese New Year new shinning screen!

Patrons love to throw coins into the water fountain. Rauth commented that it’s was a superstition and yeah I totally agreed. Looks like the Spring management frequently has to stop the fountain to do clean up, taking the coins out.

Welcome to a New Retail Beginning

“The Spring Shopping Mall” in Kuching was the second (and the biggest) shopping mall in Kuching which open to public on the 10th January 2008. I missed the whole load of fun during the opening. Kuching are now officially the shopping haven destination for all the Sarawakian, Bruneian & Indonesian.

For now The Spring shopping mall is the largest shopping mall in Sarawak but for the next one or two year, Boulevard Shopping mall will take the crown once again. They already have plans in the pipe line to make Boulevard Kuching Shopping Mall as gigantic as possible and promise great families hang out place with all in one roof theme park, shopping and movies.

With this gigantic shopping mall, I do hope tourists enjoy their time in Kuching. The Spring Shopping Mall reminds me of Australia Fair during my visit to Gold Coast Australia early 2007. This is no surprising that The Spring look familiar at some point perhaps New Zealand’s Warren & Mahoney do bring some western design to Kuching.

This RM150 Million project is no non-sense project, the finishing of this building, the time they took to decide the build, the originality should please visitors. I’m so impressed and I can’t wait to check in myself daily!

Full page news ads, Hitz.fm ads and bunting hanging at the lamp-post for few months along simpang tiga and Kuching bypass are surely inviting! Have you been to Pavilion, KL? Not sure if you would agreed, Parkson @The Spring is the second grandest after Parkson Pavilion.
