I attended a Canon EOS DSLR workshop on July 23. Checking this month DCM magazine so happy to see my photo attending the workshop was on the magazine! Feeling so honored and I think I learn at least some photography tips although more practices needed.

I meet a professional photographer on the net yesterday and his name is Bert Stephani from Belgium. A great guy, loving, polite, generous and above all passionate about his work. He responded to my tweet while he is preparing his 2 sons for joining Special Forces!

Talking about photography here’s one person I like you to meet! She a professional artist and she is Kim Barker from Australia. Kim works on portrait and her art are breath taking!

EOS Experience Seminar 2008 Kuching

Kaz Chua and Teoh Peng Kee was the speakers for EOS Experience Seminar 2008 in Kuching. It’s good to meet professional photographer in person.

I am impressed with the speaker’s knowledge in photography and their connection with the well known artists locally and globally. Maybe that’s the price for being a photographer – get to photograph beautiful people and making friend.

I learned few basis knowledge

Working with color management between camera, PC and printer.
Mr. Kaz Chua (speaker) talk about few thousand ringgit equipment to calibrate screen color. Software calibration may not be 100% accurate. If you get this right, your printing will be exactly like it was displayed on your monitor. He talks about CMYK profile - If you’re too worry with your picture output, covert your picture to CMYK profile using Photoshop before printing.
Printing resolution (DPI)
He Talks about the correct resolution for printing – 200 DPI.
White color balance
I am so lost in this topic. The speaker did not really give a proper point on how to have better control over white color balance while taking photo or maybe I don’t understand what he is trying to say. Mr. Kaz explains using AWB normally work fine.
Noise
The speaker explaining about noise control on the camera.

There’s few other thing that were mention in the seminar by another speaker, Mr. Teoh. said investing in camera body and lenses can be worth it – In exchange you get quality pictures and prints.

The speaker noted that not many Kuching people are using Canon EOS 1D mark lll in Kuching compare to Kota Kinabalu.
