My Google headless snippets

I have noticed my site Jong.my was headless on Google search result for a few days and today I am seeing the same thing happen to Thisbeast.com.

I was just annoyed. I did a search on Google to see if this phenomenon was Google’s doing. Yes, it is. The post by Mr. Mark Traphagen (Virante Orange Juice) sum up nicely in his latest post, Authorshipocalypse! The Great Google Authorship Purge Has Begun.

All I’m getting out of this is you need to be a high quality author in order to receive such a gift from Google; to have your headshot displayed in Google search result. This may be an insult to many people, I feel it too, but let’s take this positively and I’m sure service like this should be granted to the more deserving professional author.

So the real question is how to get it back? It was easy – be a professional author or writer. IMCSO (In my common sense opinion) here’s what you need to do.

[unordered_list style=”tick”]

  • You need at least thousands of +1 and followers on Google Plus. — Think quality.
  • Write your post in Google Plus
  • You need to be trusted by the community — Think sharing, share by whom?
  • Keep on writing an original content. Not those from reblog. — Think spamming.
  • You need to be glamorous, rich and famous (may be not rich) but well known — Think branding.

As of this writing I am still the first class author, No, I will not back down just because I lacked the first class: full authorship snippet. It’s been nice and I’ve enjoyed the headshot snippets while it last.
