Beware Cutting Your Maxis Broadband SIM Card

Mod your standardize size Maxis broadband SIM cards into micro SIM is 100% safe! I know because I was looking for the same answer as you did. The SIM cards cutter was in front of me and the question is “cut or not to cut my Maxis Broadband SIM?”

Teardown of Maxis broadband USB toggle, you must admit it’s a beauty! This Mod work with Apple‘s products that feature mirco SIM card e.g iPad & iPhone.

Beware
While you’re happily cutting the SIM card away and confidently knowing the process is 101% safe do not slot back in the shell onto E1762 after your cutting.

I did the mistake by putting back the SIM card shell and SIM cardholder into USB modem E1762 to prevent it from missing. Back home I pull the SIM cardholder out by force and I’m happy to report that I just screwed up my E1762 SIM cardholder’s legs.

Cost of mod
Sometime it can be fun to mod your stuff and sometime it has no problem at all until the consequences become the problem itself. In my case it causes me inconveniences and I have to get second hand replacement for RM115.

remember those times of 90x ? when mobile phone been brick size, almost as heavy, with 1m antenna, very expensive itself and monthly ? And pagers? they accepted SMS-like messages, no sending ! ) even digital pagers, when you can send a number, no text ) And now you cut SIM card because its too big ;)
